About the Recipe
Deliciously flavorful black beans!

From the Kitchen:
You will need:
1 large bowl for soaking the beans.
1 8-12 quart stock or soup pot.
For Cooking:
4 cups dry black beans
1/2 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon oregano
Water for soaking and cooking.

Steps:
Place beans into a large bowl.
Fill the bowl with water until the water is 2 inches above the beans, giving the beans enough water to soak up over the next 6 - 12 hours while the beans soak.
After the beans have soaked for at least 6 hours, thoroughly rinse your beans to remove any residue and then place them in a stock or soup pot that holds between 8 and 12 quarts.
After you have added the beans to your pot, add your garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper to the pot.
Fill your soup or stock pot almost to the brim with water and boil for 1 - 2 hours. MAKE SURE that you are checking the pot every 10 -15 minutes to replace any water that has evaporated and stir your beans so that they don't burn to the bottom of your pot.
After 1 hour check your beans to see if they are done. When you taste the beans, and they are cooked to your desired doneness remove the beans from the liquid and ENJOY!
